How to Develop Appropriately
Ie. What social issues might exist for a child with severe delays in language development?
How to Develop Appropriately Using what you have learned about developmental psychology, How might physical, cognitive, language and emotional development play a role in the way that an individual develops socially? Is any one developmental area more critical than any other to “normal” social development? What are some ways in which development in other areas might impair social development?

Society seem to judge people more and more. As a child develops they can most likely face a delay in some type of area within their growth. If a child has a delay in speech and is not fully developed in the language part of things it can harm them in the future once they reach the time to go to school. Kids can be cruel and if a child has a delay it can affect them with friends and there schooling. The various parts of development that a child goes through play a huge part on who they become as a person and how they act in society.

From things I've seen in class, if you lack one of the key developing criteria then your way of life can change. If a child had a delay in language they could stuggle through school or even be classified as a child that needs to be in a seperate class with a learning disability. They may be seen differently and life could become more difficult in the future.

for a child, having well working abilities will definately excel them socially in the aspect that nothing is holding them back. When you add issues to this its slows them down and gives them less of a motive o succeed. There is also the influence of other children as well being that we all have opinions and kids sometimes don't know when to properly share them without hurting feelings, causeing a child with a cognitive delay to no longer strive for excellence.

I believe that cognitive development may impact social development the most. If a child does not properly develop cognitive ability, they'll be less mature than their peers. Maturity plays a role in most social situations, so cognitive development is highly important.

If a child hasn't "developed normally" then it could really affect them socially because if they had a severe delay in lauguage development they might not be able to get words out of there mouth correctly and other children might make fun of them and judge them. Honestly some children or adults can be cruel to people who do not "develop properly" it could affect their future and making friends could be difficult.

if a child hasn't developed fully in an area of life, said child will probably end up a little behind peers, maybe have to be pulled into a separate class, or maybe just be extremely stressed with his work, because theyre not as caught up as the other kids. stress can affect you emotionally and personally, and feeling left out around peers can affect you, emotionally and socially.

Through the things I have seen and or experienced lacking in one area of development can drastically impact your life. Using speech as an example. If the teacher asks you to read something out in class and you are physically incapable, people will look at you differently. People are cruel and having a delay can make it very hard to live in todays society

If a child is having a hard time developing speech it could have a huge effect on them socially because communication and language is used regularly on a day to day bases. But at the same time there is other forms of communication. but the problem is that its harder to be socially accepted if you cant talk. As the child gets older and still has troubles with speaking it can have an impact on his or her self-esteem because it can be considered as a `default`in them.

Early development is one of the most important & influential stages in ones life. The different sectors of development all coordinate together. If one is off, or has a delayed or unusual way of developing, this is likely to affect the others.

development is a huge stage in life especially when it comes to speach. having any severe speach delays can affect a child communication with kids at school or teachers or as thy get older, work etc. not only is speach important for getting a job as you get older but it's easy for someone to see issues like this as a flaw which lowers self esteem and can hold someone back.

There is no such thing as a "normal" upbringing. If so then only about 3 people could be "normal". But as for development it is important that a child can at least move and speak not for social reason because that changes over time and is there for irrelevant throughout the entire course of human history, but because then they can articulate their thoughts and convey them to other humans. This is why we human not only like social interaction but also require it. If you don't have any interaction with humans for a period of time you will begin to go insane. That development in speech is an evolutionary requirement for humans. It is important not from a social standpoint but from an evolutionary one.

I think that cognitive and language development are the most important because they helps you grow as an individual in the society we live in. We happen to live in a very pre-judgmental society, where if you don't have the basic skills, it's harder for people to live in the "real world".

A childs development is very important, for there future. In todays society its extremely difficult to fit in with the world if youre slower than others.if a kid had difficulty speaking, he would struggle in his school years and might have to be put in a different class than all the other developed kids

As a child you develop yourself...If you don't grasp ideas of society you will be behind other children growing up. Since society is a mean place lacking cognitive, linguistic and physical skills you will not fit in and could lead to other problems.

When children develop at different rates or in different ways compared to the general population they tend to be judged when they start going to school so much so that it can mentally scar them. society as a whole is a very judging cure place at often times and its hard to not be negatively affected by it especially when you are different.

The early development of a child I find is very influential in a kids life. This is where you begin to discover who you are, your personality and the way you choose to come about in life. A lot of different things and come into play.

I find early development is the most important and influential stages in a life. All the different stages go together. If one thing is wrong then everything else is a bit delayed

I think the early development stages of a childs life is extremely important. If a child is pushed too hard or not hard enough they can have extreme problems in their later lives. Like speech problems, no social skills, not being able to tie their shoes until they are 40.

As a child developing to the fullest is very important. In our world today trying to fit in is very difficult but being a slower child may be harder. If a child has difficulty speaking that will affect him in school and he might have to be put in a different class. And it may affect you when you are older and trying to find work, because people may not understand what you are trying to say.

I feel like all developments play a key role in an individuals able to socially develop. In our society today it has become more difficult for an individual to develop to their full potential. If that individual does not develop properly they may fall behind early in their lives.

I believe that all types of development play a very important role for social behavior because all of these area's are used for social interaction. I don't think that any development is more critical for "normal" social development because all 4 are exercised in social interaction. I think if any, over physical development has the biggest impact on social norms because children are expected to act their age but people can often mistake a child's age if their physical development happened too quickly.

I think that all types of developments are incredibly important in a child's life, because without them, they will stop being what makes them human. If they don't develop these key factors in society, they wont be considered "normal"

A child being delayed in language development may affect them socially in many ways. The key developments that could potentially put a child at a disadvantage could also be seen as incredibly minor, and can be easily over looked. Although the basic developments that children experience are essential, impairments do not impair the child from being exceptional. Our society today does not view delays as they should, and often judge the child for the delay that they did not choose to have. School and peers can be intentionally cruel and discriminating against those who have an impediment, which can be discouraging and painful. Society views differences as wrong, whereas differences should be viewed as unique, but minor.

a child could have many social issues with language development. the child would not be able to express his/her self to communicate with his/her peers. this could also cause the child to be shy and less social due to the fact they cannot communicate as well as other children their age.

I think that all stages of development are important because while a child is growing up they need all sort of development. I think language development is important because people need to be able to use words in order to express what their own opinion is.
