As members of Derek Taylor school, it is important for us to remember that we are also members of a greater community. This year, our citizenship classes are taking responsibility for reaching out to members of this community, (in the surrounding area,) to show them that we appreciate having them as neighbors, and that even though we are just punk kids, we can be good neighbors too. That said, on the December 14th Flex Friday, it is our goal as a Junior High group to get out into the community and extend some thanks to our neighbors. Now, we just need an idea...
For your blog entry this week, you need to make a suggestion of something we might be able to do as a Junior High student body to offer a quick thanks to our assigned area in the neighborhood. Please consider the following before coming up with an idea:
Is this idea cost effective?
Is it something we can get organized during homeroom time?
Will this be manageable with a large group of students and a large area (many houses)?
Is it something community members will actually appreciate?
